Jenna Shea
Jenna Shea teaches, both
Pilates and yoga classes, as well as provides personal training
with Pilates apparatus. She has been practicing Pilates and yoga
for fourteen years and teaching for ten years. Jenna began her
Pilates training with Bob Leikens in at SUNY Purchase while majoring
in dance. She attended graduate school at NYU where she was taught
to teach Pilates by Miyuki Kato. She later completed a teacher
training course with Ellie Herman at Goodson Parker Wellness Center
in East Hampton. She is currently pursuing her second Pilates
Certification with Power Pilates in New York City and Los Angeles.
Jenna’s yoga background is in Astanga, (power) as well as
Anusara (flowing with grace). Jenna studied Astanga with Stan
Woodman at The Hard and Soft Astanga Institute in Sag Harbor,
New York; And Anusara yoga with Lois Nesbitt, John Seelye and
Maureen Taylor in Montauk and East Hampton, New York. She is currently
working with Lois Nesbitt on her certification in Anusara yoga.
Jenna has been teaching Pilates, yoga and dance to adults and
children of all shapes and sizes for over a decade. She recently
relocated to Staten Island from Montauk, New York where she supervised
the Pilates and yoga programs at the prestigious Gurney's Inn
International Health and Beauty Spa and Resort. Jenna is thrilled
to bring the first genuine Pilates and Yoga center to Staten Island.
Autumn
Ward
In addition to teaching
her own classes, Ms. Ward is a faculty member at Spoke the Hub
Dancing in Brooklyn, NY, and The Willow Studios in Staten Island.
Before relocating to New York, Ms. Ward was a faculty member at
Joy of Motion Dance Center in Washington, DC. At Joy of Motion,
Ms. Ward taught approximately 700 students between 1999 and 2002.
Classes based on her curriculum are currently taught in Washington,
DC by Rachel Brookmire. Autumn Ward is known for her sophisticated,
elegant, and expressive style, combining the soft lyricism of
Middle Eastern dance with the technical precision of European
classical tradition. Working in the dynamic idiom of "belly"
dance (a form encompassing a wide array of styles and movements
from the folk, social, and classical traditions of numerous cultures),
Ms. Ward's technique reflects Egyptian, Iranian, and ballet influences.
Ms. Ward is an American of ethnic Georgian descent.
Ankit Christie
Ankit Christie has 12 years of diverse experience with yoga and
meditation. He has trained at Kaivalyadhama in India which was
established in 1924 and since then it has been involved with psychological,
philosophical and medical research on the traditional yoga of
Patanjali. The College of Yoga at Kaivalyadhama is the only college
of yogic studies recognized by the government of India. We look
forward to your participation.
Lauren
Radolinski
Lauren Radolinski born and raised in Staten Island. Attended the
University of Central Florida and graduated in May 2002 with a
Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Attended yoga teacher training
in Buckingham.Virginia in October-November
2002 and has been teaching yoga since then. Denise Nizzare
Denise grew up in Staten Island and has been practing and studying
yoga for the last 6 years. After attending the San Diego Int'l
Yoga Conference in 2002 she completed her teacher training at
the Integral Yoga Institute in January 2003.
Eryn Mayfield
Smith
Eryn Mayfield Smith, originally from the Chicago-land area, studies
dance for 15 years at studies such as Gus Giordano jazz dance Chicago
and the Milwaukee Ballet School. Her passion for dance brought her
to New York where she attended Marymount Manhattan and Hunter College.
She received a B.A. in dance with a minor in education and is a
New York City and State licensed teacher of dance K-12. Eryn completed
her Pilates Certification program with Ellie Herman, master teacher.
In addition to teaching at the Willow, Eryn teaches Pilates at the
Goodson-Parker Wellness Center in Manhattan and has taught dance
at Hunter College, Talent Unlimited High School, and the Dalton
School.
Nancy Kaufman
Nancy Kaufman first came to the practice in 2000. She has connection
to the scriptures and enjoys chanting as well. She has studied with
Pam Flynn and is Sivanada certified. Continually embracing new ideas
and humbling to the grace of being alive, this instructor teaches
kids, beginners, seasoned yogis and herself everyday.
Melanie A
Rogers, M.S, L.Ac, Pilates Instructor
Melanie A Rogers is a certified
Pilates instructor, licensed acupuncturist, and retired professional
dancer. Melanie received her Pilates certification at the Goodson
Parker Wellness Center in Manhattan. Her interest in Pilates began
during her seven year stint dancing with the San Diego Ballet, the
Boston Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet. Melanie also holds a Master’s
of science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College
of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. She furthered her skills spending
time in China studying advanced acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Also a Hatha Yoga enthusiast, Melanie is dedicated to proving holisitc
care for the mind, body and soul. |
